SYNOPSIS:

The pilot and series is themed around the passion, money and power of professional sports and the personal conflicts that lie within. When freewheeling sports agent Trent Calhoun finds himself suddenly unemployed, he uses his guile and charm to get back into the game with a fledgling boutique agency in desperate need of his services. In doing so, Trent must maneuver Andi and Quinn, two women who he will find to be formidable challenges.

Why should this screenplay be made into a TV SHOW?

The series revolves around the interpersonal conflicts of the agents and athletes as we delve into the four major sports as well as lesser focused sports such as lacrosse, air racing, woman’s arena football, X-Games extreme and more. The unique angles on sports will keep the interest of the audience for many seasons.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Power and Passion

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

“It’s a Wonderful Life” – a Christmas tradition. Amazing how film becomes ingrained into our life.

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

About nine months — five on development and four on write/rewrites.

How many stories have you written?

Three pilots, two features, several shorts.

What motivated you to write this screenplay?

As a participant, I have always had a love for sports. There is a certain mentality, dedication and passion within athletes that is rarely explored which the series will bring out as it progresses.

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

The greatest obstacle for me is to stop tinkering with the story.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

I am also a graphic artist and fine art painter

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

Get quality feedback on your writing whenever you can. So often the story in your head is not what is on the page. It’s great that opportunities like the Screenplay Festival offer feedback and a chance to see you words come to life!
