Power
by Verletta Kyer

As a woman of God the enemy hates to see you grow.

He doesn’t like your victory and neither the spiritual flow.

Power is given to the swift and the strong.

Power is given to those that are racing towards God’s throne.

Many are reaching and leaping high for life eternity.

Power will cause you to forget about everything else and walk into your destiny.

Power to the people upward and down.

Power will cause you to put God first for level ground.

Power can go many ways.

Never forget Jesus paved the way for a brighter day.

Power gave us a brother from another mother.

Power to risk His life and in three days rose there’s no other.

If you’ve been given power for eternal life.

Hold on because Jesus already won the fight.

WANDERERS AT THE HILL OF FREEDOM, Poetry by Abayomi Ogunniyi

Genre: Life, Society, Religion

WANDERERS AT THE HILL OF FREEDOM
by Abayomi Ogunniyi

Journey beneath the sphere of
the universe,
Walking solitude of the just
at the magnitude of the sun
for the rain of comfort.

Moving wave of the mind
clustered to the drought
and dust of attention.

Moist for crumbs at the
running lips of thorns
to feed,
killing veins to sin at
the cave of deceit.

sweats and slavery of
souls,
building empire of
deceit by the whip of
cruelty and hardship.

roaring blood of the
captives,
survival at the bounds
of their feet,
silent art of misery
painting the dreams of
hope for the reality of
hardship.

Diverse breed separated
at the borders of unity,
fighting borders across
the mountain at the
justification of morality
for hatred.

Silence, the voice of the
dead over the mountains,
the tears of the birds for
the rust of the dead across
the valley.

Miles are the crying cage,
seeking the tongue to set
the path free from the
beams of ignorance.

Songs in the cast of time,
the story of knowledge at
the appraisal of the truth.
Redeeming our present from
the woes of the past.

God is real but we don’t exist…, Poetry by Jason Moore

God is real but we don’t exist…
by Jason Moore

God is real, but we don’t exist,
When believers and atheist hear this,
They gonna get pissed!
We’re figments of our own imagination,
Language, love, life,
People, politics, paradise,
War, worry, wind, time, temperature, trees,
It’s like the Matrix movie, it’s all just make believe,
History is fiction,
In this simple truth all religion is missing,
We are less probable than what makes us special,
Mankind’s time in the universe is infinitesimal,
A tiny grain of sand in the universe,
All life we know opposable thumbs dearth,
This impossibility transcends intelligence,
I think therefore I ponder my relevance,
Necks on Giraffes and trunks on elephants,
Pale in comparison to our thumbs’ development,
Evolution provides tools to survive the elements,
AND divine intervention almost makes since,
In the self-centered cloud of mankind’s dream – that’s this!
Were atoms in the cosmos, spirits in a dream,
Time scares us like we saw a ghost,
Then death wakes us from that dream,
Time on earth is heaven,
Where we control bodies like machines,
Life is seldom what it seems,
Don’t believe your eyes – the world’s just a grand illusion,
Time flies and facts lie, so I came to this conclusion,
Life is background TV, were actors and the world’s a re-run reality show,
God’s our only audience bored to tears because she’s seen it all before.

ANYONE?, Poetry by Robert Valleau

Genre: INSPIRATIONAL; RELIGION; GOD; HOPE; PAIN

ANYONE?
by Robert Valleau

Does anyone see the pain I hide?
Does anyone even care?
Lost again no hope to guide
This hurt I cannot bear.

A chasm of worry doth divide
My soul encased with fear
Who will walk by my side?
To whisper, “I am here.”

Empty tears I have cried
Ending with a stare
No one in which to confide
But God who’s always there.

I AM IN LOVE, Poetry by Maham A. Shah

Genre: Love, Religion, Love of Allah

I AM IN LOVE
by Maham A. Shah

In a state of reverie I am in

With the prettiest creature called love

Let me go wild

Let me breathe within

I feel like a playful dove

Ask the angels they speak right

For I have left the humans so far

About that lingers that strength in me

I love this Love above all

Leave me and my only soul

In a place so sacred in a place divine

I hereby stay awake

Let the night, Begone!

Let the day be held

I stay awake. Awake!

Do you sense the serenity what it brings to me

As I am touched by its gale

Leaves me devoid of my breath, O my life

And I say it’s sane it’s sane

I am falling in Love again

O’ Love

Do you hear me

O’ Love

Do you hear me

So deep

Profound

Let me be

All drowned

Come and take my soul away

Listen! It’s beating

Where my existence has shaked

Almighty!

I am pleading

Let this love in me burst today

Beyond their sights

In a land afar

I am toiling in Love

They say

Can it be more sweet

That my fear bleeds

And never my Good Ol’ Love betrays

And if I die here

What a painless death it is

CHILDHOOD’S PAST, Poetry by Robert Valleau

Genre: INSPIRATIONAL; LIFE; DEATH; RELIGION, RHYME

CHILDHOOD’S PAST
by Robert Valleau

Carefree days of childhood’s past
Gone for now not to last.
Only in our mind to see
Moments we call memories.

Swing me now forevermore
Run and hide heretofore.
Summer’s short, winter’s nigh
Darkness now, I say goodbye.

I see a land, almost there
Children play without a care.
Let me go, let me be
A child again eternally.

THE COLOR OF MY SKIN, Poetry by Sonya Marshall

Genre: Inspirational, Hope, and Religion.

THE COLOR OF MY SKIN
by Sonya Marshall

The color of my skin
runs deep beneath my veins;
The essence of my being is in me,
but we are all just the same.

The color of my skin
should not be a factor of my worth;
Itshould not be the reason for your persecution
It should not be my hell on this earth.

The color of my skin
is many shades of brown;
all races should be perceived as beautiful,
not the other way around.

The color of my skin
Should bring no malice to the heart.
God will never give a reason for anyone to hate
nor a reason for anyone to start.

The color of my skin
Is the color of my skin.
It should hold no judgment from the outside
only the qualities that lies within.

The color of my skin
Will not be a factor in the end.
God will have the final say.
I LOVE THE SKIN I’M IN!
