Spec screenplays are a great way for writers to showcase their writing abilities. When seeking agent representation, it’s one of the better ways to show that you can write for a series, and therefore get hired for a series. If you understand the plotting, characters, and the overall theme of a TV series that’s on the air, then you can get hired for a particular show that fits the genre you wrote the spec for.
In the last year we’ve performed original screenplays of the following TV shows:
– Mad Men
– Mary Tyler Moore
– 2 Broke Girls
– New Girl
– Mom
– Hannibal
– Parenthood
– South Park
– Archer
And this weekend we’re set to perform spec script readings for Modern Family and Rick & Morty
The WILDsound festival is a cool way for the writer to see their TV spec come to life. Otherwise, they are just writing it for agents and producers to read. Plus, the actors who perform the scripts LOVE doing these readings. Playing Don Draper, Hannibal Lecter, Cartman, Jess and all is so much fun!
In 2015, we plan on showcasing at least 30 spec screenplays at our festival. Submit today.
