When the Bough Breaks
by Harper James

It felt like me
The decision,
You see,
Wasn’t always over the rainbow
But just to Eden’s East

It felt like you
The destination,
I see,
Was linked from (let there be) light – Not
Just as it ripened to be

It felt like us
The Garden,
The lust,
We know it was not just
An apple, but
Distrust
