Get to know the writer:

What is your screenplay about?

A young hockey prodigy is forced to abandon the home he knows and the hockey team he loves. He moves with his mother to her childhood home, there he learns new family dynamics and unknowingly building a relationship with his biological father.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Drama

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

It’s an honest Canadian story that focuses on family values and the trials and tribulations of being both a father and a son.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Canadian Drama

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

Raiders of the Lost Ark

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

From concept to completion, almost two years.

How many stories have you written?

Four

What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

I can’t pick just one. I have so many favorites that to pick one would be impossible. I also couldn’t say what song I listened to most. I listen to a lot of music.

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Finding the time to write.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

I love traveling and exploring new places with my family be it in my own backyard or on the other side of the world.

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I entered WILDsound last year submitting a different screenplay. I was really pleased with the feedback I received then that I submitted this recent one. Again, I was really pleased with the concise and very helpful feedback.
