January 31 2016 Writing Festival Details

We have a packed lineup for the writing festival event this week, highlighted by the reading of the feature screenplay reading of the Adventure/Fantasy “Henrietta’s Odyssey”.

Below are the details of the screenplays that will be performed. 

#1 – Feature Screenplay Reading – Henrietta’s Odyssey by L.R. Whittinger

Genre: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Family, Fantasy


Henrietta seeks her astral roots accompanied by a scatty invertebrate / artificial boy and a schizoid sprite.

#2 – Best Scene Reading – Misprints by Adam Preston

Genre: Comedy


An emotionally shredded proof reader shares an apartment with a naive intern at a publishing house. When they decide to publish a rejected manuscript by an uncontrollable, priapic, egotistical and superannuated author their little island of dissatisfaction is blown apart.

#3 – Best Scene Reading – TV Pilot “My Life with Stella”  by Linda Morganstein

Genre: Drama, Comedy


Alexis Pope, a bisexual self-defense instructor widowed when her husband crashes in a sky-diving adventure that she bought him for a gift, reluctantly becomes an amateur sleuth when she joins her gay cousin Jeffrey at a Russian River (California) resort where increasingly disturbing altercations begin as soon as she arrives.

#4 – Short Screenplay Reading – Love’s Labors Lost by Stanley Eisenhammer

Genre: Comedy


After her boyfriend botches a marriage proposal, Nicole accidentally drops the engagement ring in the toilet and begins to have second thoughts.

#5 – Short Screenplay Reading – Turn on Desire by Lauren Hoekstra

Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller


What is real and what is fiction in this haunting tale.

#6 – Short Screenplay Reading – Horn by Cindy Lee

Genre: Thriller, Mystery


A couple crash their car and look for help in all the wrong places.
