Get to know the writer:

What is your screenplay about?

A frustrated bachelorette signs up to an unconventional dating agency and finds herself in a violent gun battle on her first date.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

It’s a fast paced action depicting what it takes to develop a lasting relationship in the modern age that will have the audience laughing and then discussing the deeper implications.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Absurdly real

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

City of God/Oldboy/The Godfather

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

A little over a year (on and off)

How many stories have you written?

3 short films and now working on a larger serial format project that recycles all of the main characters and their back stories from all three shorts in a completely new narrative.

What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

Modjo – Lady Hear Me Tonight

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Self doubt, not believing in the story, negative feedback. Just the usual. 🙂

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Tennis. Technology. Travel. Languages. Education. Augmented Reality. News. Mass media. Corporate espionage. Power. Love. Manipulation. Honesty. And everything in between.

You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site?

The site makes it easy to manage submissions and keep track of deadlines, announcement dates etc.

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I initially entered the script because I wanted to gain some quality feedback to push myself to write the most engaging story possible. Some of the feedback was quite harsh but I would also prefer it this way. I find it motivates me to work harder and overall write better scripts. It also means I don’t have to interpret someone just trying to be polite or massage the criticism in too delicately.
