Genre: Comedy, Drama, Romance

Music, turntables, big hair, brawls, girls, and revenge are just a few words to describe this story of Generation X. Turn the Tables is the bare-knuckle yet hilarious flashback tale of love lost, again and again, like the scratches on a 12″ vinyl record.

Narrator: Val Cole

Travis: Noah Casey
Emcee: Neil Bennett

Get to know the writer:

 What is your screenplay about?

Two young DJ’s, determined to leave a musical legacy behind in their home town, before they join the Marines, compete for their love interests, their honor, and the title of 1991 world DJ champions. The only thing in their way is a rival DJ gang known as “The Crew”, that have some information on them that could derail their futures for good.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Drama/Comedy

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

This story is a tribute to music and the art of DJing. The story is set in 1991 and shows the trials and tribulations of being a DJ. Before there were cell phones and social media, people went to dances to hear music, have fun, and make memories that will last a lifetime.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Memorable/Unique.

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

Saving Private Ryan.

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

Part time, off and on for a few years.

How many stories have you written?

Two.

What is your favorite song? (Or, what song have you listened to the most times in your life?)

AC/DC Back in Black

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Time. Time was the biggest obstacle. I just wished that I could write full time to put down on paper, all the stories that I think about.

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Camping and hunting.

You entered your screenplay via FilmFreeway. What has been your experiences working with the submission platform site?

It was easy to submit to the contest. I had no issues at all. The experience was great. I wished all contest submissions went this smoothly.

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

I entered the festival because it was an easy process. I did not feel any pressure and I felt that the feedback I would receive would be worth it. It was worth it.
